Meet MJ.
My name is Melissa Jane, aka MJ, and I’m the girl behind the brand. I’m a fiancé and mama of 3 beautiful humans 💕 I’m the definition of creative chaos! I love traveling, shopping, dining and self-care. I love espresso martinis and I’m always down for a good time! 😆
I have had so much passion for the beauty industry since I was a little girl. At 7, I had dreams of being a very successful hairstylist/makeup artist, living in NYC and just being fabulous all day… you know, SJP style. My plans quickly changed when I fell in love with my high school sweetheart and we welcomed our first baby boy at only 19 years old. I wasn’t ready to give up my dreams so I went to cosmetology school. I waitressed 30 hours a week and went to school 40 hours a week while raising a 2 year old. I have always had the best support system - however, there were times I thought maybe it was just a dream. It was so hard, I was sleep deprived, over worked and missed out on ALOT of my family. I made doing hair and a makeup a side hustle and started looking at other options while our family grew by two more 🙃
I was so passionate, I never said no. I took every client, no matter how far, what time of day.. and some times I didn’t even have enough gas money to get me to my client lol! Before I knew it I had 20 something weddings booked in 2016! I was so happy and proud 🤩 It’s now 2022 and I’m just amazed at where this company is now. We completed over 200 weddings last year and have 17 passionate and excited artists slayingggg the game. We have so much pride in our work and our team chemistry goes unmatched. I am so proud of this business and I have loved getting to know SO many amazing brides and their friends and families.. I have watched my brides buy homes, get degrees, have multiple babies, move across the country, etc. This has been such a rewarding journey and I cannot wait to meet my future brides!
