Pre-wedding instructions 

There is a lot of planning and prepping for your wedding day! Don’t let your hair, skin and personal grooming needs slip by unnoticed. Pamper yourself and you’ll be a glowing bride inside and out! Please see our recommendations below;

  1. See an esthetician for a personalized skin regimen

  2. Remove lash extensions

  3. Get hair cut and colored 2-3 weeks prior to wedding

  4. We highly recommend a facial or dermaplaning 4 weeks prior as well

  5. Purchase a lip color/gloss you love (we will gladly help you pick the best color for you)!

  6. Schedule a preview 3-4 months before your wedding date

Pre-trial instructions 

Your trial is an exciting appointment and we want to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible. We ask that you follow these steps leading up to your trial;

  1. Come with an open mind! Please trust us as the professionals to enhance your natural beauty and make you the most stunning bride you can be.

  2. Please have inspiration photos or ideas for how you would like your hair and makeup to look.

  3. Have your hair clean, dry and make sure not to use a flat iron prior to your hair trial. We also ask that you bring your veil or headpiece with you.

  4. Wash, exfoliate and moisturize your skin before your makeup trial. If you wax your brows or lips, please do this 2-3 days before your trial as well.

Travel

Please refer to the travel fee chart in the rate sheet provided upon booking.  A quote will be provided for any travel over 100 miles from 08034.

Hotel Accommodations

Hotel accommodations are required within 10 – 15 miles of site in a safe location for all employees of MJ Bridal Artistry working your event if it is 150 to 250 miles away from their home. Rooms, travel and parking will also be paid by the client. 

Destination

For all events deemed as destination (taking place beyond 250 miles from your 08034), additional fees are applicable, such as round trip airfare, hotel stay for 1 night & 2 days pending complexity of your event, and car rentals from airport and back during the stay. All rooms must be booked for the night before your event.

Liability

It is understood that MJ Bridal Artistry is only liable for services completed and provided by your MJBA artist and we cannot be held liable for the services of other contracted vendors. It is understood that in no event shall any of our employees be liable for consequential damages of any kind.

Cancellation Policy

If your event is canceled, no portion of the fees paid to MJ Bridal Artistry will be returned. If event is canceled less than 2 months before date, 2nd payment will be required to compensate for hours of service already rendered and loss of event date.  Any services cancelled less than 2 months before the event will require full payment. 

You may add any services at anytime to our contract but no services are to be removed. 

Postponements/Rescheduling

There is no fee or penalty to postpone/reschedule within the same calendar year.  If an event is postponed to the following year, the original rates may be adjusted to the new policies and rates for that specific year.  Due to availability,  you will not be guaranteed the same service providers.  If the original artist or artists are unavailable on the new date, MJ Bridal Artistry will recommend another artist within the team with no extra charge to the client.

Covid-19

Any clients postponing to a new year due to the pandemic will follow any adjusted rates (if applicable).

Responsibility

MJ Bridal Artistry is not responsible for Acts Of God, Natural Disasters, an Act Of Government such as A Declaration of National or Local Emergency, pandemic or epidemic, or Other Incidents Not within the control of the consultant, i.e. accident, death in the family, illness, pregnancy, or sudden tragic circumstance. In such a situation, MJBA will obtain, upon approval of the client, a qualified professional replacement to fulfill consultant’s obligations under the contract, at no additional charge to the client.

Payment Schedule and Method

For your convenience, payments can be made online via HoneyBook.com using a valid credit card.

After your initial trial service and deposit have been paid, your final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your event in full. If any add-on services are scheduled on the day of, they are expected to be paid in full by cash before your artist leaves.

If payment is not received before the wedding, the event is assumed to be cancelled and no services will be rendered.  If another payment method is preferred, please discuss with MJ Bridal Artistry.

Appropriate Conduct/ Safe Work Environment 

The Client(s) expressly agree(s) to take best efforts to provide MJ Bridal Artistry and their staff with safe and appropriate working conditions. In the event of circumstances deemed by either employee or a bystander to present a threat or implied threat of injury or harm to staff or equipment, the service provider reserves the right to cancel all services remaining under this Agreement and leave the event. At our discretion, we may enact a three-strike policy. After the first offense, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the Client(s) or a responsible party. If the Client(s) is/are able to respond to the threatening situation in a reasonable amount of time (maximum of 15 minutes), we shall resume work in accordance with the original terms of this Agreement. If the threatening behavior occurs for a second time, the Client(s) will agree to remove the offending person for the remainder of the event. If the behavior occurs a third time, we will immediately leave the event. If your artist leaves the event early due to any offending behavior, the Client(s) expressly agree to relieve and hold harmless as a result of incomplete event coverage, or for a lapse in the quality of our work, and the Client(s) shall be responsible for payment in full.

The undersigned have read this contract, understand its terms, and agree to be bound thereby. Any additions, deletions, or revisions must be made in writing and approved by all responsible parties. The parties agree that this contract is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties.
